Your Workout Log In

 

There are a number of places you can buy home equipment. Jfit (an online distributor located in Vancouver, Wa with inexpensive, high quality merchandise - go to the links page for contact information or see below for more information), local sporting good & fitness stores, Target, Fred Meyer, etc.
Home Essentials:
* A ball (if you are 5′5″ or less buy a 55 cm ball, 5′6 - 6′ buy a 65 cm ball, 6′+ buy a 75 cm ball)
* Tubing (preferably with handles) - get 4 strengths (very light, light, moderate, hard).
* A door attachment for your tubing (usually under $3)
* Good exercise shoes & music (for motivation)
Other Home Equipment:
* a yoga mat (for floor based exercise, pilates or yoga exercise)
* a set of dumbbells (usually 3 lbs to 15 lbs is good)
* jump rope - great for quick & intense cardio (& easy to take along for travel) - even if you don’t think you can do it, practice makes perfect & burns a lot of calories getting there!
* Some type of a step at least 8″ high to really work your legs or increase your cardio activity.
Videos:
Having home videos is a great & quick way to get in a workout. I will recommend a few, but if you have questions on any, just shoot me an email (jen@bodyfitmethod.com)
* Yoga: www.gaiam.com has a great selection of yoga videos
* Pilates: www.stottpilates.com is what you need to learn proper pilates just like Joseph Pilates taught (and realize that taking a few one on one classes is your best bet to really understand the principles & movements of pilates)
* Cardio & Weights: www.karenvoight.com - she is a great motivating instructor & fitness icon and her videos are good for beginner to advanced. Karen’s videos range from yoga to cardio to weights.
* Hardcore Workouts: www.cathe.com - if you want your butt kicked, sweat dripping of your body & muscles screaming for oxygen, then this is the lady to go to. She has kickboxing, step, bootcamp, weights, core, and more. I can guarantee you will burn massive amount of calories doing these workouts! (equipment is usually required)
